A payout winch tows paraglider pilots to altitude without a mountain. The vehicle drives away while the winch pays out the line in a controlled manner — the pilot climbs just like on a hill, but from flat ground. The TowTechniks T2 reaches up to 1100 m altitude.

Yes. The T2 is designed for both solo and tandem paragliders and is in use for commercial tandem operations worldwide — including Thailand, Bulgaria, Turkey, Sweden, India and the Maldives. In tandem mode the tow load is electronically limited to 130 kg.

Bei uns am Vänern in Schweden gibt es keinen Berg weit und breit — nur flaches Land, viel Wasser und einen alten Acker direkt am See. Genau dort schleppe ich seit zwei Jahren mit der TowTechniks T2 Payout Winch, und ehrlich gesagt vermisse ich die Hänge kein bisschen. Die Trommel läuft ruhig, der Tower mit Messeinheit zeigt mir sauber die Zugkraft, und der Start vom Towbar-Mount aus ist über die Wiese narrensicher.
Am letzten Wochenende hat alles gepasst: glatter Wind vom See, kein Berg, trotzdem 900 m über dem Acker — und von da oben sieht man den halben Vänern. Wer denkt, Schleppbetrieb braucht Topografie, soll mal einen ruhigen Morgen am flachen Ufer mit der T2 erleben. Schickt eure eigenen Flug-Storys gern rein, ich lese sie alle.
